Continuing our highlights from Day 3 of FUJI ROCK FESTIVAL 2013…
DAUGHTER dished out an impassioned set at Fuji Rock, a group certainly adored by any lovers of indie-folk attending the event. They were yet another band that demonstrated a heartwarming humility onstage, an honest appreciation for the opportunity to play at Japan’s largest music festival.
These three youngsters from London have built up a considerable following in the short time they’ve been playing (forming in 2010), and after the release of their debut album “If You Leave” earlier this year featuring hit track “Youth,” the trio rocketed to international fame. Leading lady Elena Tonra initially began her musical efforts as a solo gig, joining with Igor Haefeli and Remi Aguilella later on to form the band which would later be signed to highly regarded UK label 4AD.
Tonra’s delicate yet powerful vocals belted out heart-broken lyrics in a truly passionate performance, leaving the audience convinced of the truth behind each song.
The band is currently touring North America.
