Lisa Gornick is a London-based filmmaker, writer, artist and actress. She has made two feature films Do I Love You and Tick Tock Lullaby, and is now working on a third. In this video of her opening speech at the recent 9 Sept FREE PUSSY RIOT LONDON Fundraiser Concert, she lists 10 reason why she wants to be part of Pussy Riot:

1. They like the word “feminism” and they want men to like it too
2. They like women challenging the system
3. They want to explore truth with smiles
4. They ask us to set up new art movements that will wake people up
5. They are out to question the domination of men in all areas of public life and decision-making
6. They are surrealists and are inspired by, among many others, Simone De Beauvoir, Shulamith Firestone, and the Riot Grrrls
7. They have shown us that radicalism can be fun and we mustn’t be be scared of it
8. They don’t wait for the green light to make their art – they go out and do it
9. They remind us that we have power to make this world work
10. They wear balaclavas — and I want one!
